A Short History of the Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team in Glendale, Arizona. They are members of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the NFL. The Arizona Cardinals are the oldest professional American football team. The team was founded in 1898, in Chicago, as the Morgan Athletic Club. At that time the team was named the Racine Normals because they were originally located in Normal Park on Racine Avenue in Chicago. They changed their name to the Racine Cardinals when they started wearing dark red uniforms. After becoming a NFL charter member in 1920, the team was renamed the Chicago Cardinals.
In 1944, during the World War II, the Cardinals merged with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a brief time and became one franchise, known as Card-Pitt, for that one and only season. In 1960, the Cardinals moved to St. Louis, Missouri and became the St. Louis Cardinals. After unsuccessful trying to obtain a new football-only stadium to separate them from the baseball team, they relocated to Phoenix in 1988. The team first went by Phoenix Cardinals before using its current name "Arizona Cardinals," in 1994.
The Cardinals are one of six NFL teams to never have made a Super Bowl appearance. Their single NFL championship was game was in 1947, while the team was based in Chicago and came two decades before the first Super Bowl game was ever played. In 1988 they moved from Arizona to St. Louis, Missouri. The team began playing all its home games at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, in 2006, after 17 years at Sun Devil Stadium.
Rivalries - The Arizona Cardinals don't have any highly heated rivalries, but have the traditional division rivalries with the St. Louis Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks.

Below are two videos we thought you "Big Red" fans might get a kick out of. The first video featured is of Adrian Wilson, strong safety for the Arizona Cardinals, making a massive jump. Ok, admittedly, this isn't exactly a "football" video, but we were amazed when we saw it. Watch Adrian Wilson go up and over a 66 inch hurdle with a three-step start. Unbelievable! Clearly he now owns the Cardinals field for a good reason, the guy is amazing! The second video shows Arizona Cardinals rookie Steve Breaston return a punt 73 yards for a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2007 season in the 4th quarter of the game. The Cardinals took the game with a final score of 21-14 against the Steelers. It was a great game and win for the Arizona Cardinals.
