A Short History of the New England Patriots
The New England Patriots are a professional American football team in the Greater Boston area, playing home games in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts. The team is part of the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the NFL. The team owners changed the original name from Boston Patriots after relocating the team to Foxborough in 1971, although Foxborough is a suburb of Boston. They are current AFC Champions after winning the 2007 AFC Championship Game.
The Patriots are original members of the AFL and joined the NFL in the AFL/NFL Merger in 1970. The team advanced to the playoffs four times before making it to Super Bowl XX in January 1986, where they lost to the Chicago Bears. The team also played in Super Brown XXXI in January 1997, when they were defeated by the Green Bay Packers.
From 2001 to 2005, the Patriots became the second NFL team in history (following the Dallas Cowboys) to win three Super Bowls in four years (Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX) and the eight to win successive Super Bowls. The Patriots were however defeated by the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII, after winning the first 18 games of the 2007 season.
Rivalries - The Patriots have rivalries with the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills that go back quite a ways. More recently, the Indianapolis Colts became one of the Patriots newest rivalries fueled by the quarterback rivalries between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Below you'll find two videos we here at TicketFireSale consider to be must sees. The first is the New England Patriots Tribute 2008 Superbowl XLII vs. the New York Giants where in one of the most significant upsets in Super Bowl history, the Giants (14-6) won 17-14, preventing the Patriots (18-1) from becoming the first undefeated team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins went 17-0. Ozzy singing Crazy Train in the background definitely lends a lighter mood to the whole situation, that's for sure. Some Patriot fans are still not over the loss... a moment of silence please. The second captures pictures from the 2007 Perfect Season of the New England Patriots 16-0, for all Patriot fans to enjoy and reminisce. Pictures start with week one and go through week 16 of the regular season. Sit back, grab a cold one and relax while you watch over ten minutes of highlights from the legendary 2007 season. Go Patriots, Go!
