2009 NFL Draft - Best Team Drafts

On April 25th and April 26th, the 2009 NFL Draft took place. There were tons of trades and a lot of action. When the dust settled, here are the teams that had the best drafts.

1) New York Jets
The Jets didn’t have many picks in the 2009 NFL Draft but they made their picks count. They traded up to draft quarterback Mark Sanchez, who is regarded by most scouts as the most NFL-ready QB in the draft. In addition to Sanchez, the Jets also got running back Shonn Greene. There’s a good chance that Greene can be the team’s RB of the future — maybe even as soon as this season.

2) San Francisco 49ers
Perhaps more than any team in the NFL, the 49ers needed a playmaking wide receiver. They accomplished that in the draft by trading up for Michael Crabtree. The Texas Tech wide receiver has a chance to be great on the next level. Additionally, San Francisco got good quality in other draft picks such as Glen Coffee, Scott McKillop and Bear Pascoe.

3) Green Bay Packers
The first two players they selection, BJ Raji and Clay Matthews, could are both special talents. Raji dropped a little bit due to character questions but few scouts doubt his talent. Matthews should be able to start right away at linebacker. Quinn Jackson could be the fullback this team has lacked recently and TJ Lang will help on the O-line.

4) Arizona Cardinals
Not long ago, Chris “Beanie” Wells was regarded as the best running back of the 2009 draft class. However, he fell in the draft and the Cardinals were able to grab him late in the first round. The Cardinals desperately needed a running back and Wells should be a great addition to their backfield next to bruising back Tim Hightower.
