Best Teams in the 2009 NBA Playoffs

With eight teams still alive in the 2009 NBA playoffs, the best of the best are starting to stand out above the rest. The NBA Finals are still a few weeks away but here’s a look at the best teams in the playoffs so far.

4) Orlando Magic
Although they’ve had a few stumbles along the way, the Magic have emerged as the second best team in the Eastern Conference. Dwight Howard is blossoming into a legend before our very eyes and he has a hungry set of role players around him. Howard and the Magic should remain in the conversation for a long while.

3) Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers seem to sometimes be lacking the necessary energy but their team is so talented that it usually doesn’t matter. Kobe Bryant is player great basketball and he’s still the best finisher in the game. If L.A. can get their energy level to match their talent level, they very well could be the team to beat.

2) Denver Nuggets
Coming into the 2009 NBA playoffs, few people where on the Nuggets bandwagon. A few weeks later and Denver’s bandwagon is full. Led by Chauncey Billups’ steady hand, the Nuggets have a swarm of hyper players that are starting to believe that they are true championship contenders. If they can keep their composure and keep playing a smart brand of ball, they have a chance against any team in the land.

1) Cleveland Cavaliers
Right now, the Cavaliers are no doubt the best team going. They’ve won all six of their postseason contests and they’ve done it without breaking a sweat. LeBron James is the most dominant player in the NBA right now and the role players on Cleveland fit well around him. It’d be a huge upset if the Cavaliers aren’t representing the East in the NBA Finals.
