Former Seattle Seahawks Assistant Coach Passes Away
Long time NFL assistant Coach Tom Catlin passed away today at 76 years of age. Catlin was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and was a former player himself in the National Football League having played for the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his five year player career. Catlin was last a part of the NFL as the assistant coach for the Seattle Seahawks from 1983-1995.
Mr. Catlin coached with Knox for 19 seasons. Mr. Catlin retired from coaching in 1996 shortly after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “Tom Catlin was a great player and a great coach and a great friend,” Knox said. - [Source]
During his coaching career, Catlin also served on the coaching staff of the Los Angeles Rams (now the St. Louis Rams) and Buffalo Bills in the NFL, and for the Dallas Texans and Kansas City Chiefs in the American Football League.
