Iowa Football Rivalry Ongoing Through 2017

The Iowa State/Iowa football rivalry will be ongoing through 2017 following a contract extension between the schools, according to a recent announcement by Iowa athletic director Gary Barta. The deal was a year in the making and focused mainly on financial details.

Each school will keep 20 percent of ticket revenue for the first five years and then keep its own tick revenue for the remaining five years of the contract. The latest contract is similar in nature to the current contract due to expire after the 2010 game.

Games will alternate at ISU’s Jack Trice Staium and Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium, according to the new contract.

This year’s ISU-Iowa game is on September 13 in Iowa City. Iowa leads the series 36-19.
