MLS Power Rankings

Let’s take a look at our latest MLS power rankings.

1. Columbus Crew
With a fifteen wins, five draws and six loses, the Columbus Crew has the best record in Major League Soccer. They also have a league best +14 goals advantage on the season.

2. Houston Dynamo
Brian Ching and his 11 goals has led the Houston Dynamo to the top spot in the MLS Western Conference. Their +7 goals advantage is tops in the West and third in the MLS.

3. Chicago Fire
Although the Chicago Fire’s record of twelve wins, five draws and nine losses doesn’t look too impressive, their +9 goals advantage points to the Fire being a team that is better than advertised.

4. New England Revolution
Despite having a +1 goals advantage to this point in the season, the New England Revolution have been able to produce a quality record of twelve wins, six draws and eight losses.

5. Chivas USA
Like the Revolution, Chivas USA has done well with a sub par goals advantage, however their -4 number is even more drastic. That said, they are currently in second place in the Western Conference.

6. New York Red Bulls
Juan Pablo Angel is leading the way with 11 goals for the New York Red Bulls. Although they are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, most of their problems have been on the road.

7. FC Dallas
FC Dallas is led by Kenny Cooper’s 15 goals — which is three times as much as the next player on his team. They’ll need a more balanced effort to climb out of their current spot of fifth in the West.

8. Real Salt Lake
Although Real Salt Lake can sometimes find it difficult to score goals, their solid defense has allowed them to remain in fourth place in the West.

9. DC United
While DC United can certainly score, their problem is defense. So far this season, they’ve given up an Eastern Conference leading 43 goals.

10. Los Angeles Galaxy
Even with Landon Donovan leading the entire MLS with 19 goals and David Beckham leading the league in salary, the Galaxy so far been a disappointment.
