Shakeups in the Redskin Roster

The Redskins signed two “new” players in the last week. The first was free agent and free safety, Stuart Schweigert. Whether or not LaRon Landry will be moved from his position at free safety to strong safety to allow Schweigert to start this year had “yet to be decided”, but the former Oakland Raider is happy about the deal:

“It feels like a thousand-pound bear’s been lifted off my chest. It’s time for a fresh start,” Schweigert said. “In Oakland, I felt as if my time was up there. It was a deal where I wasn’t in their future. I feel like I’m in the Redskins’ future.” - [Source]

The Washington Redskins also announced the re-signing of ex-Steeler Rian Wallace as well as the signing of defensive end, Dorian Smith, an undrafted rookie out of Oregon State. But not all the roster changes came from additions to the team. The Skins also released cornerback Eddie Jackson and linebacker Bryan Wilson.

How the roster changes will affect their chances this season remains to be seen, but with one of the strongest fanbases in the NFL (they average 89,000 fans per game) good tickets can be hard to come by. But as usual, TicketFireSale.com always has a top notch selection of Washington Redskins tickets.
