BC Lions Trying for a Sellout to Honor Bob Ackles

CFL lost one of its legends earlier this month when Bob Ackles passed away and the BC Lions decided to honor Bob at their July 18th game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Lions are hoping for a sellout to honor their most successful “water boy” but thus far, the game isn’t sold out and still shows seats available in the lower levels from first-market ticket vendors and fans have been taking notice of the lack of sales.

There will probably never be another man to give as much of his time, talent and energy to a football team the way Bob Ackles did to the B.C. Lions and the CFL. Ackles was a member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame, inducted in 2004 and his memoir about his rise in Canadian Football League organization, from water boy to President and CEO of the Lions club.
