Now that Michael Vick has been released from prison, the next question on everyone’s mind is where the former NFL quarterback will end up. Although Vick has missed a lot of football action after being locked up on federal charges, he was arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the league prior to his arrest. Based off of his potential, the former Atlanta Falcon should have many suitors ready and willing to give him a second chance.
Brett Favre is supposedly retired, however we’ve heard this story before. Favre might have unretired more times in his career than he has total touchdown passes. Before, during and after NFL season, it seems like the main story is regarding Favre and retirement.

The Detroit Lions have been bad for a long, long time. In the 2008 NFL season, they’ve taken it to a whole new level. At 0-12, the Lions have a great shot to become the first team in NFL history to go 0-16. In Week 14, the Lions will take on the Minnesota Vikings. At 6-5, the Vikings are tied atop their division. Needing a win desperately, they should be able to take care of the Lions.
Donovan McNabb has had a lot of ups and a lot of downs in his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s been an All-Pro quarterback who has led his team to the Super Bowl, however he’s also been a streaky quarterback who has had issues with injuries. Through it all, Eagles coach Andy Reid has been by McNabb’s side. That is, until this Sunday.

1. New York Giants
The defending Super Bowl champions are 8-1 in the 2008 NFL season and they look very, very good. Eli Manning has blossomed into a superstar at quarterback and the defense can still produce a lot of pressure. It won’t be easy for the Giants but they are a team no one wants to face in the playoffs.
Most years, the NFL is a league that is tough on rookies. The veterans are bigger, tougher, stronger and are able to impose their will. However, the 2008 NFL season has seen a number of rookie running backs flourish. In Week 9, the headlines were doinated by these rookie running backs.
In the first quarter of the first game of the NFL season, the New England Patriots saw their hopes seemingly go down the tubes. Tom Brady, the superstar quarterback of the Patriots, tore knee ligaments and was lost for the year. Nearly two months later, the Patriots find themselves in a familiar spot - atop the AFC East. At 5-2, New England hasn’t quite rolled over died just yet.

5) Buffalo Bills (5-1)
The Buffalo Bills have surprised almost every NFL league expert by being one of the best teams in the NFL. Offensively, Trent Edwards is a very good game manager, while Marshawn Lynch is one of the best young running backs in the league. Buffalo’s defense is good and is seemingly improving on a weekly basis.
After their Super Bowl victory last season, many NFL pundits expected the New York Giants to take a step backwards in 2008. The Giants were good in the playoffs but was their streak of perfection in the playoffs a fluke? Even the most ardent of Giants fans had to have at least a little bit of doubt in their mind.
