The Oakland Raiders Shell Out 60 Million for McFadden
In order to avoid a delay in training like they had last year when trying to sign JaMarcus Russell, the Raiders had one goal in mind for the contract negotiations with their top draft pick this year - get ‘er done! And McFadden had to be smiling as the Raiders agreed to shell out 60 million dollars for a six year stint - 26 million of which is guaranteed.
“I’m very happy to have it out of the way,” McFadden said at Friday a news conference. “Because like coach said, I want to be in training camp. I want to be out there practicing and learning plays. Missing a day of training camp is like missing a week of college practices. It would be a major setback for me.” - [ESPN News]
While Darren McFadden has an impressive college record that even landed him on the cover of EA Game’s NCAA 2008 game, whether or not he’ll be worth ten million a year to the Raiders remains to be seen. The Raiders have their first regular season game this year against the Denver Broncos. Don’t miss the chance to be present live and in person for what may be the very first regular season game of a legend’s career - find Oakland Raiders tickets now.
