Worst MLS Teams
It’s easy to recognize who is best in Major League Soccer, but which teams are the worst of the worst? Here is our run down of the worst teams in the MLS.
5. Colorado Rapids
Even though the Rapids are still in the playoff race, this team just isn’t that good. Even if they make the playoffs, don’t expect Colorado to last long in the postseason. Currently they have 11 wins, 14 losses and 4 ties — but they are even worse than that record indicates.
4. FC Dallas
Not too long ago, FC Dallas had hopes to make the Major League Soccer postseason. But a recent game against Utah put those hopes to bed. FC Dallas actually has a pretty good defensive unit but their goal scorers are just not explosive enough at this point. The good news is the future is bright for this Texas team.
3. San Jose Earthquakes
The San Jose Earthquakes are actually a decent enough team to make the playoffs. The problem is they are undisciplined and they don’t excel at the intracacies in the game of soccer. Better team chemistry and an infusion of smarter players could make the Earthquakes a contender in a short amount of time.
2. Toronto FC
The only Canadian team in the MLS just is a bad soccer team at this point in their history. Toronto FC has actually played decently well near the end of this regular season but their poor start doomed their entire year. Thankfully for Toronto FC fans, this unit looks to be a lot better and more consistent next season.
1. Los Angeles Galaxy
The highest profile team in the MLS has simply had a very bad year. Landon Donovan and David Beckham have played pretty good soccer, especially Donovan, but this team will need to be rebuilt in the offseason. Too much money is spent on players that don’t work well together. The Galaxy also need to find a way to allow less goals than they have this season.
