With six weeks gone in the 2008 NFL season, let’s take a look at the worst teams in the NFL.

5. Oakland Raiders
The Raiders have their fair share of young talent but as of right now, they just aren’t very good yet. JaMarcus Russell and Darren McFadden will one make a good quarterback and running back combination but right now, both players are struggling a bit. Add in a coaching change and an owner in Al Davis who seems to always be meddling, and you have a few more reasons why the Raiders are currently the fifth worst team in the NFL.

4. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs main problem for 2008 is their lack of a quarterback. Due to injuries and poor play, the Chiefs have already used three different quarterbacks – and all three have played poorly. Running back Larry Johnson is still a tough player to tackle but when the quarterback is struggling, it makes the job easier for the opposing defense. To make matters worse, the Chiefs defense isn’t as good as it has been in recent years.

3. St. Louis Rams
Even though the Rams got their first win of the season in Week 6, they are still a bad football team. The biggest reason they beat the Washington Redskins was because the Redskins kept turning the ball over. Offensively, the Rams aren’t very potent and they are even worse defensively. Don’t expect the Rams to win many more games during the 2008 football season.

2. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are 0-6 in 2008 and their season is already all but over. The Bengals entered the year with playoff aspirations but now they are just hoping to get a handful of wins. Carson Palmer has been banged up all year and Chad Johnson (or Chad Ocho Cinco, if you will) has also been slowed. With no rushing game to speak of and a porous defense, the Bengals simply aren’t very good right now.

1. Detroit Lions
The Lions are usually bad but this year they are even worse than the Lions have been in recent years. Last season, the Lions at least boasted a good passing game and a gambling defense. In 2008, the Lions have struggled to pass, run the ball and play anything resembling defense. It is no surprise that the Lions are winless and are rated the worst of the worst.
